Biography

Lecturer | Researcher | IT Specialist

Hakar Mohammed Rasul is an educator, researcher, and IT specialist with over 12 years of academic and industry experience in Software Development, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Robotics. He currently serves as a Lecturer at Qaiwan International University (QIU), where he teaches undergraduate courses including Data Structures & Algorithms, Human–Computer Interaction (HCI), Programming Techniques II, and Enterprise Programming.

He previously worked as an Adjunct Lecturer at the American University of Iraq, Sulaimani (AUIS), teaching Algorithms and Data Structures, and held multiple leadership positions at Fam Technical & Vocational Institute (FTVI), including Head of IT Support and Maintenance Department and Head of IT. In these roles, he led IT infrastructure management, curriculum development, faculty supervision, and digital transformation initiatives.

Hakar holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Big Data Analysis from Sulaimani Polytechnic University with a final grade of 91%, and a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from the American University of Iraq, Sulaimani, graduating with a GPA of 3.86/4 (96.5%). He also completed Pedagogy Studies at Qaiwan International University.

His research interests include machine learning, social media analytics, bot detection, cybersecurity, and applied artificial intelligence. He co-authored the publication “Real-Time Twitter Data Analysis: A Survey” in the UHD Journal of Science and Technology (2022). His practical work includes developing a high-accuracy Twitter bot detection system using Apache Spark and multiple machine learning models, achieving up to 99.6% accuracy using Random Forest.

In addition to academia, Hakar is Co-Owner and CEO of Secure Inception and has worked in leadership and technical roles at Zamani Company and the Kurdistan Region Security Council, contributing to software development, data analysis, cybersecurity, and enterprise systems.

He is fluent in English and Kurdish and is passionate about integrating modern technologies into education, designing hands-on learning environments, and preparing students to become industry-ready professionals.
